Our company trip in Straits was more than just a break! It was all about teamwork, pushing boundaries and discovering what makes us stronger as a team.
On Day 1, our Group Managing Partner, Datuk Alvin Tee’s speech set the tone for the day. He shared with us Steve Jobs’ success story as a reminder that passion and hard work can lead to great things. We kicked things off the D.O.P.E Test, where our Superstars grouped by personality (Doves, Owls, Peacocks, Eagles) to brainstorm their vision of a dream UHY swimming pool. The creativity and different perspectives showed how much potential we have when we pool our talents together!
Next up, the Amazing Race had us racing through Melaka’s Jonker Street. We solved puzzles, snapped photos at iconic spots, took on the Bhangra Dance Challenge with strangers and got hands-on with local culture by making ondeh-ondeh, trying Chinese paper cutting and painting handmade clogs. Under the scorching sun, the sweat was well worth every smiles and laughter!
Day 2 we brought the heat indoors with fun, high-energy challenges that pushed us to our limits. We had a blast lifting teammates and brainstorming wild strategies to see how far we could place our markers. The way everyone came together in support was simply incredible! Then came the communication challenge where we had to shout instructions to our artist teammates in a sea of noise. It was a fun chaos with everyone cheering and shouting at once (some of us even lost our voices the next day).
We also had the Short Play Challenge, where each group scripted and performed a play with random elements. Creativity levels were sky-high and we discovered that UHY isn’t just a place for numbers. We had some seriously talented actors in the house!
We wrapped up with a bridge-building challenge. Superstars had to use their earnings to construct a bridge that could support a model car. We worked hard, played hard and “prayed” hard! With nervous energy in the air, the moment the car crossed was unforgettable! Hard work and teamwork truly pay off!
What stood out throughout the trip was the unstoppable spirit of our Superstars. We tackled challenges and came together as a team, that’s what defines us at UHY! So yes, we may have come back a little tired, but we are definitely stronger, closer and more motivated than ever!
